OSSAA Rankings — Class 3A
Class 3A rankings publish once Week 1 results are final
These OSSAA Class 3A football rankings are computed from results in our own database: win rate carries the ranking, with scoring margin per game as a capped tiebreaker.
How the 2026 Class 3A power rating works
Every Class 3A rating starts from verified final scores in the GridironOK database for the 2026 OSSAA season — never projections, never last year's carryover. A team only appears once it has played at least one game, and the board re-sorts each time a new final is verified.
Win rate carries the rating. Winning percentage is multiplied by 100 to form the base, so an unbeaten Class 3A team always ranks ahead of a one-loss team regardless of style points.
Scoring margin is the strength-of-schedule signal. Average margin per game (points for minus points against, divided by games played) is added to the base, capped between −25 and +25. A team rolling weak non-district opponents by 40 a night gets no more credit than one winning by 25 — the same philosophy as the OSSAA's own district tiebreaker, which caps marginal points at ±15 per game. That cap keeps a single 60-point blowout from distorting the Class 3A board and rewards teams that win consistently against real competition.
Remaining ties break cleanly. When ratings match, the sort falls to total wins, then raw margin per game, then alphabetical order — so every ranking on this page is fully reproducible from the published numbers.
Because only Class 3A results feed this table, an 11-Man schedule is never compared against 8-Man or 6-Man formats, and district games are weighted exactly the same as non-district ones until the OSSAA's official tiebreakers take over for playoff seeding.
